Panel data are spatial microeconomic samples tracked over time, that is, they consist of the observation of the same economic units that are made in successive moments in time. Panel data has the three dimensions: characteristics, objects, and time. Using panel data has a number of significant advantages when estimating parameters of regression relationships as they enable both time series analysis and spatial sample analysis. This data is used to study poverty, unemployment, crime and to evaluate the effectiveness of state social policy programs.
