Tool interfaces in the web application and in the desktop application are identical, and differences in functionality are given in appropiate commments.
Data refresh is required after changing block selection and after changing source data.
The following is available in express reports:
Refresh express report data. Click the Refresh button on the Home ribbon tab.
Reopen express report data source. Select the Reopen Data Sources item in the drop-down menu of the Refresh button on the Home ribbon tab. Data sources and table data will be refreshed.
NOTE. The option is available only in the desktop application.
Automatic refresh of the whole express report. Click the Automatic Refresh button on the Home ribbon tab.
All data refresh settings are saved together with the express report.
Data refresh is executed as follows:
When the Refresh button or automatic refresh is used, the data table will be refreshed, all changes made in the table and not saved to the data source will be lost.
When the Reopen Data Sources item is executed in the drop-down menu of the Refresh button:
If new dimension elements are created, they are added to a drop-down hierarchical element list without the selection.
If the elements are deleted, they are deselected and removed from the list of dimension elements. If the selected element of the fixed dimension is deleted, the next element in the list is selected.
If a new dimension is created, it is added to the list of fixed dimensions, and the first dimension element is selected.
The deleted dimension is deleted from the list of dimensions.
Automatic refresh enables the user to refresh data on changing of selection and/or with the specified period.
