Setting Up Tooltips

To set up tooltips for data points, go to the Tooltips tab of the Chart Parameters dialog box.

NOTE. The Chart Parameters dialog box can be used to set up tooltips only in the desktop application.

To display tooltips, select the Show Tooltip for Series checkbox.

If the checkbox is selected, hovering over a series point brings up a tooltip with the format selected in the Tooltip Text box. Tooltips are not displayed by default.

Tooltip text and format are determined in the Tooltip Text box. To create a multiline tooltip, set a wrapped text.

Predefined templates can be used to create a tooltip text. To do this:

Click the Templates button next to the box.
Select one of the tooltip text templates in the drop-down list.

To set up formatting for:

A part of label text, select a text part and select the Format context menu item.
The entire data label, click the Format button.

After executing one of the operations the Label Format dialog box opens. Label format is set up in the same way as the caption format.
