About License Type and Period

A license type and period combination is set for a license.

The table displays license types and their application scenarios:

License type Application scenario
Network A license for license server in the local network. License server controls the number of simultaneously working users, ensures flexible and easy administration because license should be supported only on the server.
A network license can be created without restriction on the number of simultaneously working users.
A network license can enable the user to get a temporary local license to work with the application without an internet connection up to 30 days. For example, it can be used on a laptop during business trips.
Stand-alone A per-workstation license. The license is installed locally on each computer and does not require internet connection.

The table displays license period options and their application scenarios:

License period Application scenario

Certain dates

A temporary license that enables the user to run the licensed application between the fixed calendar dates only. Once the calendar date has reached, the license will expire regardless of whether the application is used or not.
The example of a license with certain dates: a license that enables the user to run the application between July 1, 2017 and August 15, 2017.

Trial

A temporary license that enables the user to run the licensed application for a fixed time period, beginning from the first startup.
The example of a trial license: a license enables the user to run the application during 30 days from the first startup. If an application was first started on July 1, 2017, the license expires on July 30, 2017.

Perpetual

A perpetual license is not time-restricted.
Creating a perpetual license requires a computer locking code.
