A query is a sampling of table data based on a specified SQL query. Queries as well as tables and views can be used as data sources for dimensions and cubes.
To create a query in the object navigator click the
Create button in the main menu and select the object type on the New Object side panel.
After executing the operations determine settings on the pages of the query wizard:
Basic Settings. The page is used to set name, identifier and comment.
Parameters. The page is used to create a list of parameters that will be used in query text.
Properties. The page is used to specify query database, query text and advanced settings.
To save settings in the query wizard:
Click the Save button.
Select the Save and Close item in the drop-down menu of the Save button. After this the specified settings are saved, the wizard closes, and the window opens in the data edit mode.
NOTE. The Save and Close item is available only during editing the settings.
