Process monitoring contains all started process instances that are available to the user. A process instance is a process running with specific parameter values. The number of running instances is unlimited.
The list of process instances in process monitoring may be different depending on user access. If the user is assigned as owner for a specific step execution, the step will be displayed on executing in process monitoring.
NOTE. The repository administrator has access to all running process instances.
To monitor and execute a process:
Make sure that the process is started.
Open the Process Monitoring window:
In the object navigator select the process and execute one of the operations:
Select the Open item in the context menu of the selected process.
Double-click the selected process.
Click the Open button in the Open group on the Home ribbon tab. It is available only in the desktop application
In the business process setup dialog box:
In the web application click the Go to Monitoring main menu button.
In the desktop application click the Go to Monitoring button on the Process toolbar tab.
After executing one of the operations the process monitoring window opens.
NOTE. process steps monitoring in the web application is also available in the Designer of Business Applications extension.
To open the monitoring window in the Designer of Business Applications extension in the web application:
NOTE. When process monitoring opens, it displays the first 50 process instances, the rest of instances are loaded consequently in real time.
Execute process steps depending on the step execution method:
Automatic. The step is started and executed automatically. The steps of the process with automatic execution are marked with the sign at the top right corner of the block.
Manual. The step is executed manually. When executing the step, dependent objects are available for edit and view that are set on creating the step on the Step Description page.
When executing process steps it is available to reject finished process step.
Browse the process stages or steps execution log if required. It is available only in the desktop application.
After executing operations, the process steps will be executed.
In the process monitoring working area:
Each stage or step is indicated with color.
A step is given a status. It is available only in the desktop application.
Available options of color indication of execution status:
Solid blue. The stage or step is being executed.
Solid green. The stage or step is executed on time.
Solid red. The stage or step is expired.
Solid yellow. The stage or step:
Rejected and is not expired.
Executed and expired.
Solid white. The step is not started.
Solid grey. The stage is not started or the step is disabled.
NOTE. To view color indication of process execution statuses, select the Legend main menu item. It is available only in the desktop application.

Process steps with automatic execution option are marked with the icon at the top right corner of the block.
Process manager and administrator, provided that administrator has full access to the process, can execute advanced functions:
Restart process steps execution:
In the web application using the Restart button with the ability to change process execution term and to add comments in the Comment to Restart box. In this case:
If the process scheme is displayed in the working area, colors of all executed steps, except for the first one, change to yellow, and the process is restarted from the first step.
If the list of process or subprocess instances is displayed in the working area, first, select the required process instance in the list. Multiple selection is available.
In the desktop application using the Restart button with the ability to change process execution term and to add comments in the Restart Comment box. In this case, all executed steps, except for the first one, change their indication and status to the Rejected, and the process is restarted from the first step.
Stop steps of all process instances or a single process instance:
In the web application using the Stop button. If the list of process or subprocess instances is displayed in the working area, first, select the required process instance in the list. Multiple selection is available.
In the desktop application using the Stop button.
In this case, indication of executed steps of all or separate process instance will be reset, all or separate started instance will be deleted. When all process instances are stopped, the monitoring window will be cleared.
NOTE. The whole process can be finished if client process execution is set up on user local computer. If server process execution is set up, the process should be stopped using task scheduler on server.
