Formula Area

To create a new formula area, select a cell on the report sheet or cell range and select the Other Areas > Formula Area item in the Data Area group on the Insert ribbon tab.

The Formula Area Parameters dialog box opens:

Set formula area parameters:

• Identifier. A unique sequence of Latin letters, numbers and signs, that must start with a letter. It identifies a formula area within the report in a unique way. By default, each formula area is assigned with an identifier shown in this box. To change identifier, enter a new value.

• Sheet. Select the sheet, that will house the formula area, in the drop-down list.

• Cell Range. Specify the borders of formula area location.

• Base Cell. Specify the base cell. The base cell affects the calculation vector. It can be located both within the formula area or outside it. By default, the top left corner cell of the formula area is prompted to be used as a base cell.

• Formula. Specify the formula to use in values calculation. If the formula uses relative references to other cells, the formula references each cell of the formula area relative to the base cell.

• Formatting. Define formula area formatting parameters using standard component of the formatting settings.

To create a formula area copy, select any cell in the formula area and select the Create Copy context menu item.

The user will be prompted to input cell range, into which formula area copy will be placed.

To edit formula area parameters, select any cell in the formula area, and select the Edit Formula Area context menu item.

The Formula Area Parameters dialog box opens.

To calculate formula area, select any cell in the formula area, and select the Calculate Formula Area context menu item.

Formula area calculation can be set up automatically.

To delete formula area, select any cell in the formula area, and select the Delete Formula Area context menu item.

A warning message appears after executing the command.
