To disconnect a repository from VCS:
Open the Application Development tab in the Parameters dialog box.
Save the object obtained from server in the repository. To do this, click the Synchronize Repository button.
Click the Disconnect button on the Application Development tab. The Disconnect from VCS dialog box opens, in which select the option for disconnecting repository from VCS:
Disconnect this Computer from VCS. Local settings for connecting the current repository to version control system are deleted. Repository objects added to the version control system are read-only with the ability to save all changes to a new object.
Disconnect All Connected Objects. This attribute is deleted for all objects added to version control system. Version control system settings for this repository are not changed. The system continues working with object versions stored in the repository database.
NOTE. Team Foundation Server records history of the files added to this server. When objects are disconnected from the repository, information on the corresponding files remains on the VCS server. It is impossible to reconnect disconnected objects to version control system as the server already stores information on corresponding files. An object can be added to version control system after changing the settings of repository connection to VCS server (Changing Connection Settings). Do not disconnect objects in the working version of the repository. It may be needed to disconnect objects on changing settings of a cloned repository version before changing settings of connection to version control system.
Disconnect the Repository Completely. All settings for connecting the repository to version control system are deleted. After disconnecting the user is able to work with object versions stored in the repository.
IMPORTANT. Total repository disconnection from version control system will result in deleting all settings for users working in this repository.
Click the Disconnect from VCS button.
The repository is disconnected from VCS.
