Setting Up Data Autoupdate

Autoupdate enables the user to update data on changing of selection in a block or in the specified period. By default, autoupdate is executed each time selection is changed.

All data update settings are saved with a dashboard.

Blocks are updated as follows:

• If new dimension elements are created, they are added to drop-down hierarchical element list without the selection.

• If the elements are deleted, they are deselected and removed from the list of dimension elements. If the selected element of the fixed dimension is deleted, the next element in the list is selected.

• If a new dimension is created, it is added to the list of fixed dimensions, the first element is selected.

• The deleted dimension is deleted from the list of dimensions.

Manual Data Update

When autoupdate is disabled, after selection change blocks are empty and contain only the Show Data hyperlink. To fill a block with data:

• Follow the Show Data hyperlink in the block.

• Click the Refresh button on the Data ribbon tab.

Data is displayed in the block.

TIP. To reopen a data source used by the selected object, select the Reopen Data Sources item in the drop-down menu of the Refresh button on the Data ribbon tab. The option is available only in the desktop application.
