Setting Up Button

The Button control enables the user to execute various commands on the button click.

Make sure that the side panel is displayed.
Select a button in the working area.
Go to the required tab.

Setting Up Basic Button Parameters

The same parameters are available for the button, as for all dashboard objects. Additional settings are also available:

Font. Select one of the fonts available in the operating system.
Font size. Set the required font size. The size is set in points, and it can be selected in the drop-down list or entered manually. Available values range: [1; 72].
Font style. Click the buttons that determine font style:

B. Bold.
I. Italic.
U. Underline.

When the button is pressed, the corresponding font style is used. Several styles can be used simultaneously, for example, pressed buttons B and I result in bold italic font style.

Title text alignment. Set title alignment relative to the object:

Left. Default.
Center.
Right.
By width.

Font color. Select font color in the drop-down palette.

Managing Button Commands

To manage the action, which is executed by clicking the button, use the Command tab on the side panel.

Click the Add Command button to add a command. In the drop-down menu of the button select the required commands executed on the button click, and set command parameters:

In the Show or Hide Block drop-down list select the object, which will be shown or hidden.

In the Show Block drop-down list select the object that will be shown.

In the Hide Block drop-down list select the object that will be hidden.

On selecting the Export item:

Select exported object: the whole document or a block.
Select the export format in the drop-down list.

TIP. To export several blocks, add several Export items.

In the Print drop-down list select an object, which will be printed with opening the preview window and print setup.

To open a report in the desktop application, select a report that will be opened in the Open Report drop-down list. The report must be in the same repository that contains the dashboard.

The desktop application enables the user to search for repository reports:

Click the button and enter text to search.
Enter text to search, the focus must be on the collapsed tree of repository objects.

As the string is entered to the field, the elements list shows only the reports, which names contain the entered string.

Click the button to open a report in the web application. Select the report in the repository dialog box that opens.

To open a repository object in the desktop application:

In the Open Object drop-down list select an object that will be opened. The object must be in the same repository that contains the dashboard.
In the Opening Mode drop-down list select the mode of opening a repository object: Open or Edit. Depending on the type of object the drop-down list shows only the modes available for the selected object in the object navigator.

After these steps have been executed, clicking the button opens the selected repository object in the specified mode.

The desktop application enables the user to search for repository reports:

Click the button and enter text to search.
Enter text to search, the focus must be on the collapsed tree of repository objects.

As the string is entered to the field, the elements list shows only the objects, which names contain the entered string.

To open a repository object in the web application:

Click the button.
Select the required object in the repository dialog box that opens.
In the Opening Mode drop-down list select the mode of opening a repository object: Open or Edit. Depending on the type of object the drop-down list shows only the modes available for the selected object in the object navigator.

After these steps have been executed, clicking the button opens the selected repository object in the specified mode. If the web application does not support opening of the selected object in the specified mode, a warning appears.

Select the object that will be refreshed in the drop-down list.

Enter URL of the resource that will be opened on the button click.

NOTE. The command is available only in the web application.

Specify name of the JS-function that must be started in the web application on the button click. This may be a system and a custom JS-function.

To be used, the JS-function must be connected to a dashboard. For details about how to do it, see the Connecting Custom JS-Function to Report section.

NOTE. The item is available only for dashboard in slide mode.

In the Show Slide drop-down list select the slide that will be shown.

If a number of commands are set for a single button, they are executed according to the order in the Command tab.
