Working with Users' Personal Folders

Create a user's personal folder that is available only for a specific user or administrator.

NOTE. The web application enables the user only to view personal folders.

Personal folders are available for users if the Use Mechanism of Users' Personal Folders checkbox is selected in the access control, and the root folder is selected in the general policy.

IMPORTANT. Personal folders are not available for users if administrator role separation is enabled.

Object Access Permissions

By default, only the user for whom this folder is settled and administrators can access the personal folder and its objects.

To allow access to personal folders for another user, set read permissions for the Root Directory for User's private folders

NOTE. If the administrator creates an object in the user personal folder, by default, the user has permissions to read and edit but not delete the object.

Creating Personal Folders

To create a user's personal folder, go to the Users section and:

If the Use Mechanism of Users' Personal Folders checkbox is selected in the access control, a personal folder is automatically created for new users.

NOTE. Personal folders are not created for domain users who were created when the Grant Rights on DBMS Level was not selected.

Deleting personal folders is available only in the built-in administrator group via the object navigator.

Viewing Personal Folders

To display personal folders in the Users section, select the Personal Folder column in column display settings.

In the security manager all personal folders are located in the separate directory: Root Directory for User Personal Folders.

Users will see their personal folder in the root directory.

NOTE. If the Use Mechanism of Users' Personal Folders checkbox is deselected, folders remain in the repository but are hidden for users.
