To successfully install Foresight Analytics Platform using a remote connection (RemoteDesktop), the installer folder must not contain MSI files of the help system. If MSI files of the help system are stored on the same level with the Foresight Analytics Platform installer, the installation may be rolled back. It is caused by using Chained MSI technology in Windows Installer 4.5, that is, MSI files are started after the basic application is installed.
For correct remote installation of Foresight Analytics Platform, install Foresight Analytics Platform and help system separately. To separately install Foresight Analytics Platform to the folder where main installer is located must not contain help system MSI installer. After installing Foresight Analytics Platform start help system MSI installer.
On consequent installing of 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Foresight Analytics Platform within one release (distribution files that do not use Reg-free technology) and on further deleting of one version of Foresight Analytics Platform (x86 or x64) the other version will not work if:
The Windows Installer 4.0 or earlier is installed in the operating system.
MS Windows 7 OS or later is used (for example, MS Windows Server 2008 R2).
It is recommended to install a single version of Foresight Analytics Platform (x86 or x64) within the same release on workstations with MS Windows 7 or later installed.
On installing the personal or demo version of Foresight Analytics Platform with the language that is different from the operating system language, the local workstation system registry language is written without the ability to change it without prior deleting the previously installed package. In this case the interface language of Foresight Analytics Platform may differ from the demo repository language. For example, when installing the personal or demo version of Foresight Analytics Platform by means of the installer in English to the operating system in Russian by default, the further installation by means of the installer in Russian will not result in overriding the language in the system registry. On startup, Foresight Analytics Platform interface will be displayed in the first installation language. To change the language, delete the previously installed Foresight Analytics Platform package and reinstall the application. In order the interface language is displayed correctly, update must be executed according to the default operating system language.
