Data Source Settings

The appearance of the Data Source page on selecting a source of this type is given above.

In the Time Series Database box specify time series database, from which the data will be imported.

Specify parameters:

• Set Up Connection. Click the button. The dialog box opens to set up connection to the Oracle database, from which the data will be imported. For detailed information about working with the dialog box refer to Microsoft Windows help.

• Query. Enter the query to select data from the connected database.

• Settings. Click the button. The Advanced Settings dialog box opens were it is required to determine imported data type and format settings.

• Browse Data. Click the button. The dialog box opens to preview data loaded by selected settings.

The data provider parameters match the parameters for provider of the Microsoft OLEDB Provider for Oracle type.

In the File box specify the Microsoft Excel file, from which data will be imported. Import options depend on the Microsoft Excel version, in which the file was created.

Import options from the Microsoft Excel file 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 8.0 (97-2003):

Specify import options:

• Driver. Specify the driver corresponding to the selected file version.

NOTE. Import options for the Excel 3.0, Excel 4.0, Excel 5.0, Excel 8.0 (97-2003) drivers are given below. Import options for the ExcelEx driver correspond to import options from the Microsoft Excel 2007 file or later.

• Headers in First Row. Specify whether the first sheet string contains column headers. If there are headers on the sheet, select the checkbox. This allows headers from data for import to be excluded. If the sheet does not contain headers, deselect the checkbox.

• Specify the method for getting data:

• Data Sheet. Specify a sheet containing data for import. By default the first sheet is selected.

• Query. Enter the query to select data from the file.

• Settings. Click the button. The Advanced Settings dialog box opens where it is required to determine imported data type and format settings.

Import options from the Microsoft Excel file 2007 or later:

Specify import options:

• Data Sheet. Specify a sheet containing data for import. By default the first sheet is selected.

• Skip First N Rows. Specify the number of rows to be skipped on import. Default value is 0, that is, data is imported from the sheet beginning.

• Header Row. Specify whether the data sheet contains column headers. If the sheet contains headers, select the checkbox and specify number of the header row. This allows headers from data for import to be excluded. If the sheet does not contain headers, deselect the checkbox.

NOTE. If the Header Row checkbox is selected, and the zero row is specified, it is assumed that there are no headers.

• Settings. Click the button. The Advanced Settings dialog box opens where it is required to determine imported data type and format settings.

Specify parameters:

• File. Specify the Microsoft Access database file, from which the data will be imported.

• Query. Enter the query to select data from the selected database.

• Settings. Click the button. The Advanced Settings dialog box opens were it is required to determine imported data type and format settings

• Browse Data. Click the button. The dialog box opens to preview data loaded by selected settings.

Specify parameters:

• File. Specify the XML file, from which the data will be imported.

• Format. Specify the data format used in the XML file:

• Fields in Nodes. Fields are shown as child nodes.

• Fields in Attributes. Fields are shown as attributes.

• X-Path Query. Enter the query to select data from the selected file. The query format depends on file structure. For details about forming X-Path queries refer to the additional documentation, for example MSDN.

• Settings. Click the button. The Advanced Settings dialog box opens were it is required to determine imported data type and format settings

• Browse Data. Click the button. The dialog box opens to preview data loaded by selected settings.

Specify parameters:

• File. Specify the text file, from which the data will be imported.
  It is considered that each file row is a set of fields separated by the delimiter character. Beginning and end of field text is marked with a qualifier.

• Encoding. Specify file encoding.

• Row Delimiter. Select or enter the symbol, separating rows in the file.

• Column Delimiter. Select or enter the symbol, separating fields in the file.

• Text Qualifier. Select or enter the symbol limiting fields in the file.

• Skip First N Rows. Specify the number of rows to be skipped on import. The default value is 1, that is, data will be from the first row.

• Header Row. Specify whether the file contains headers. If the file contains headers, select the checkbox and specify the header row. This allows headers from data for import to be excluded. If there are no headers, deselect the checkbox.

NOTE. If the checkbox is selected and zero row is specified, it is considered that there are no headers.

• Treat Several Contiguous Delimiters as One. If the checkbox is selected, separators will be excluded from import.

• Settings. Click the button. The Advanced Settings dialog box opens where it is required to determine imported data type and format settings.
