Dimension elements layout can be set up using the Layout side panel tab and the Layout panel on the Constructor ribbon tab. Tab view and settings depend on the selected element.
Available settings:
The Layout tab is used to set up heading and sidehead elements layout.
If heading or sidehead are selected, the layout settings applied to table heading and sidehead will be available on the Layout tab:
The operations available on the tab:
Arrange level elements in separate columns
Display or hide duplicate cells
Locate child elements before parent
Locate parent elements before and after children
The Layout tab is used to set up dimension elements layout.
If a dimension or a level of the table is selected, settings for applying to table dimension/level will be available on the Layout tab:
Layout settings for dimensions are similar to heading and sidehead settings. By default, layout settings are inherited from heading and sidehead to dimension and from dimension to levels.
Leaves only / Display parent elements
To quickly collapse or expand the hierarchy:
Select the Collapse All or Expand All context menu item of the panel heading/sidehead. It is applied to the entire heading or the entire sidehead.
Select the Collapse All > Dimension Name/Expand All > Dimension Name heading/sidehead context menu element item. It is applied for dimension. Only hierarchy of the selected dimension will be collapsed or expanded.
Select the Collapse All > Dimension Name > Level Name/Expand All > Dimension Name > Level Name of the heading/sidehead element context menu item. It is applied for the level. Only hierarchy of the selected level will be collapsed or expanded, except the bottom.
NOTE. The report is not recalculated on collapsing or expanding the hierarchy.
If there are several dimensions by rows or columns in the table, they can be merged into one hierarchy.
Merging or separating of hierarchies is set up via the drop-down menu of the Layout button of the Designer ribbon tab. The menu contains checkboxes:
All Dimensions. It merges hierarchy of all dimensions. On selecting the All Dimensions checkbox, the Levels in All Dimensions checkbox is selected automatically.
Levels in All Dimensions. It merges levels in all dimensions. Default checkbox
Corresponding Names. It merges additional names of dimensions. Id several additional names are selected to be displayed for each dimension, on selecting the Corresponding Names checkbox, the first name of the first dimension will be merged with the first name of the second dimension and so on. If different number of additional names is displayed for dimensions, then only corresponding names are merged, the rest stays unchanged.
In One Column/Row with the Previous. It merges the current dimension with the dimension which is higher in the heading or to the left in the sidehead. It is available for all dimensions except the top dimension in the heading and the leftmost in the sidehead
Elements in One Cell with Elements of the Previous. It merges in one cell the element of the current dimension with elements of the dimension which higher in the heading or to the left in the sidehead. It is available when the In One Column/Row with Previous checkbox is selected. When the checkbox is selected, the Merge checkbox is automatically selected on the Parameters tab of the Dimension group of tabs of the sidehead. By default the checkbox displays the first element of the current dimension. To select an element shown in the cell, use side panel settings.
