The use of software based on Prognoz Platform 9 includes a number of requirements and conditions that should be considered on procurement planning of software and on application systems development. Stages of installation planning:
Select configuration. Depending on purpose and required functionalities, various configuration options of application system are available. For simple systems designed for a small number of users, a configuration with DBMS server and desktop applications of Prognoz Platform 9 or BI server and web applications is sufficient. For more complex systems, in which fault tolerance is important, it is possible to create a cluster of BI servers, use virtual environments or cloud solutions. The selected configuration should take into account how DBMS servers are organized, in which Prognoz Platform 9 repositories will be created, as well as other data sources, to which Prognoz Platform 9 can connect to get data.
According to the selected configuration, check the compliance with the system requirements that are superimposed on the DBMS servers, web servers and client computers.
Select type of user authentication. Depending on the selected type of authentication, additional settings may be required on both servers and client computers.
The license server is an obligatory component of any system, it is used to activate software products based on Prognoz Platform 9, as well as to control access to the tools in use. Check out the product activation process and a list of available licenses.
After the configuration is selected and all requirements are prepared, go directly to the installation of Prognoz Platform 9. Installation is executed using installers included in the distribution kit. During the work, Prognoz Platform 9 uses various additional software that must be installed in the operating system. The availability of necessary software is checked when installing Prognoz Platform 9. If any program is missing, it will be automatically installed from the prerequisite package.
