Setting Up Data

To set up combining of several values of fixed dimension elements, use the Data group of parameters on the parameters panel:

To open Data group of parameters on the parameters panel:

Select a cell or a cell range in the table.
Click the Parameters button on the toolbar.
Select the Table area type in the drop-down menu of the parameters panel title.

Set the parameters:

Aggregation enables the user to combine values of elements selected in fixed dimensions.

To set aggregation, select the method in the drop-down list:

No. No aggregation is executed. Selected by default.
Sum. Values of fixed dimensions elements are summed.
Minimum. Minimum value is selected for fixed dimension elements.
Maximum. Maximum value is selected for fixed dimension elements.
From Source Dimensions. Fixed dimensions use aggregation according to the set aggregation methods of source dimensions.
Average. The average of fixed dimension elements is determined considering empty values.

Aggregation Features

If in a table:

Selected elements contain identifiers of different measurement units.

Structure of the dimension that includes these elements corresponds to structure of indicators dictionary.

A cube contains a units dictionary and the Do not Aggregate Different Measurement Units checkbox is selected.

During aggregation of fixed dimensions:

The Dimensions area displays the icons and a tooltip next to the dimension with these elements.

The calculated cell will display the "-" character instead of the value. To change the character or text, use the IPivot.UnmatchedUnitsText property. To display the character or text during aggregation of fixed dimensions, the dimension should be located in fixed.

When displaying of icons for calculated cells is enabled, the calculated cell will display both characters. The =- characters are displayed by default.
