Syntax

Sln(Cost, Salvage, Life)

Parameters

Cost. The initial cost of the asset.

Salvage. The value at the end of the depreciation.

Life. The number of periods, over which the asset is depreciated.

NOTE. To determine the parameter, one can specify either the parameter value or the cell address where it is located.

Description

It returns asset depreciation value for one period calculated by linear method.

Example

Formula Result Description
=Sln(15000.1, 1000, 24) 583,34

Asset depreciation over one period based on the following terms:

  • The cost of the asset is 15000.1.

  • The value at the end of the depreciation is 1000.

  • The number of periods is 24.

=Sln(18764.41, 1456, A0) 961,58

Asset depreciation over one period based on the following terms:

  • The cost of the asset is 18764.41.

  • The value at the end of the depreciation is 1456.

  • The number of periods is specified in the A0 cell, value is 18.
