Cube Segments

A cube segment is a set of data slice of cube data slice and security subjects permissions to this data.

NOTE. Segments can be set up only for standard cubes by users or user groups who have permissions to create tables in database and to edit cube.

Cube access permissions for user and user groups are determined by the administrator by means of the Security Manager tool. Access permission control can be executed by means of discretionary access control method and attribute-based access control method along with the discretionary access control method.

Segments are used to limit existing user/user group permissions for cube data.

To manage segments, select the Segments item in the selected cube's context menu in the object navigator. The wizard containing the following pages opens:
