Setting Up Calculation Periods

To edit a calculation period of calculated series, use the Calculation Periods side panel tab.

Make sure that the side panel is displayed.
Select a calculated series in the data table.
Select the Series radio button on the side panel.
Go to the Calculation Periods tab.

TIP. For quick displaying of the Series group of tabs on the side panel, select the Show Parameters item in the context menu of the selected series.

Determine the start point of the sample period. Specify the method of calculating period start data:

Start of Data +/-. The date is equal to the first actual date of the input series plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
Specific Date. The date is specified in the corresponding date editor.
Today +/-. The date is equal to the current date plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
From Sample Period End. The start date of the sample period is equal to the end date of the sample period minus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
From Calculation End. The start date of the sample period is equal to the end date of the calculation period minus the number of periods defined in the value editor.

NOTE. The From Sample Period End method is available if the calculated series is calculated by the regression or the forecasting method. In other cases the From Calculation End method is available.

Determine the end point of the sample period.

NOTE. Setting the end point of the sample period is available, if the series is calculated by the regression or the forecasting method.

Specify the method of calculating period end date:

Start of Data +/-. The date is equal to the first actual date of the input series plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
End of Data +/-. The date is equal to the last actual date of the input series plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
Specific Date. The date is specified in the corresponding date editor.
Today +/-. The date is equal to the current date plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
From Calculation Start. The end date of the sample period is equal to the starting date of the sample period plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.

Specify calculation end point. Specify the method of date calculation:

Display Period End. The date is equal to the end date of the workbook data display period.
Specific Date. The date is specified in the corresponding date editor.
End of Data +/-. The date is equal to the last actual date of the input series plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
Today +/-. The date is equal to the current date plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
From Sample Period End. The calculation end date is equal to the end date of the sample period plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.
From Calculation Start. The calculation end date is equal to the start date of the sample period plus the number of periods specified in the corresponding value editor.

NOTE. The From Sample Period End method is available if the calculated series is calculated by the regression or the forecasting method. In other cases the From Calculation Start method is available.

After changing the limits of the calculation period the calculated period should be recalculated.

NOTE. If the Today +/- method is used, end of sample data and end of the forecast data shift to the period end. Relevant for frequencies from monthly and higher.
For example, sample period end is April 2012, and calculation end period is equal to the sample period end. Thus, on series calculation the calculation end date is 30.04.2012.
