Harmonic mean of x1, x2, ..., xn is the number, the inverse value of which is an arithmetic mean of the inverse values of these numbers. It is calculated by the formula:

n. Sample size.
Harmonic mean of numbers is not greater than their arithmetic mean.
Harmonic mean is used when observations, for which the arithmetic mean is to be calculated, are defined as inverse numbers.
