Selecting Calculated Element and Calendar Calculation Frequency

When creating a calculation formula, one can use the following as calculated elements:

To determine a calculated element, use the panel of calculated elements:

To show or hide the calculated element panel, click the Output Variable button.

The panel displays non-filtered dimensions by default, which are not selected in the list of data consumer dimensions. Such dimensions are mandatory and are marked with the * character. One can select an element for a filtered dimension, by which calculation will be executed regardless of the selected filtering, on the Consumer page in the calculation block or control block editing wizard.

When a parameter is used in a calculation formula, one can dynamically change the calculated element without having to change formulas.

To select a dimension element:

    1. Click the dimension's drop-down list on the calculated element panel. The list of dimension elements opens.

    2. Select the element for each dimension in the list.

    1. Click the Add Dimension button at the right part of the calculated element panel. The list of filtered dimensions will be displayed.

    2. Select the dimension. The selected dimension will be displayed on the calculated element panel.

    3. Click the dimension's drop-down list on the calculated element panel. The list of dimension elements opens.

    4. Select the element in the list for each added dimension.

After executing the operations the calculated dimension element will be selected.

To select the parameter that sets dimension value, select the Set Parameter item in the dimension's context menu. Parameters of the Selection type are available. After executing the operation the dimension value will be determined by the selected parameter. The parameter is displayed in the format: {<parameter name>}.

NOTE. If the data source is set in the parameter, which contains controlling dimensions is set in the parameter, the elements of controlling dimensions in parameters depend on the controlling dimension.

To change displaying of element names, select checkboxes next to attributes in the drop-down menu of the Names item located in the dimension element's context menu on the calculated elements panel.

If required, select calendar frequency of the calculation or proceed to creating a calculation formula. Annual frequency is used by default.

Selecting Calendar Frequency

Select the formula calculation calendar frequency in the Frequency Step drop-down list on the calculation options panel:

Formula calculation depends on the Set Calculation Period switch:

If calculation formula calendar frequency differs from operand calendar frequency, after the formula is calculated, data will be calculated by formula calculation frequency. For example, if the formula has monthly calculation frequency, and the operand has annual frequency, data will be calculated by months.
