Report Dimension Synchronization

To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

Dimension synchronization enables the user to control element selection in several objects that use different data slices.

Synchronization is executed by means of links between dimensions of the data slice used by the object. If several objects use the same slice as a data source, synchronization settings for these objects will match. To provide correct setup, synchronized slice dimensions must be based on one dictionary.

To set up synchronization in all slices used in regular report, use the Document Dimension Synchronization side panel tab.

Make sure that the side panel is displayed.
Click on the free space of the working area.
Select the Document group of tabs on the side panel.
Go to the Document Dimension Synchronization tab.

The tab contains a list of dimension links for all regular report slices. Only one link can be created based on any slice dimension. Both one or several links can be created based on the same dimension within different slices.

Link name is formed according to the scheme: Link <link_number> (<dimension_name>). A list of slices using this link is given for each link.

Go to the Document Dimension Synchronization side panel tab.
Select the slice, on which a link must be based.
Click the New Link button or drag the selected link to the end of links list.

The selected slice will be excluded from the link. A new link is created based on the selected slice, the link is displayed on the Document Dimension Synchronization tab.

Select the required link.
Click the Delete button.

The selected link is deleted from all the slices, in which it is used, without confirmation.

Select the required slice.
Click the Delete button.

The selected slice is excluded from the link without confirmation.

A slice can be moved from one link to another if these links are related to the same dimension.

To move the slice from one link to another:

Select the required slice.
Hold down the mouse button and drag the selected slice to the required link.

The link is moved to the selected slice without confirmation.
