To work with the tool in Foresight Analytics Platform 10, use the new interface.

Setting Up Rows and Columns Numbering

The Numbering tab used for rows and the same tab used for columns are identical.

To set up rows or columns numbering, go to the Layout > Rows/Columns > Numbering tab. The Data Area Properties dialog box looks as follows:

When the Enable Numbering checkbox is selected, auto numbering is enabled in the data area.

The first level of the Levels to Numerate hierarchical list shows dimension names in the order of their appearance in rows or columns. The second level shows dimension levels in the order, in which they are defined in the dimension.

If a list element is selected in the Cell Formatting and Numbering Mode areas, element settings are displayed.

Determine formatting for the required levels to numerate. To do this, use a standard component to edit cell style.

By default, level formatting is inherited from dimension numbering formatting.

To recover inheritance, click the Clear button in the editor.

The Numbering Mode group of parameters contains the following radio buttons:

Inherit from Parent. Numbering mode changes by chain. It is available only for dimension levels.
Continuous. A continuous numbering, independently from the parent level numbering, is set for elements of this level.
Hierarchical. Level numbering depends on parent level numbering.
Include Parent Number as Prefix. The checkbox is available only for hierarchical numbering.

The General Settings group of parameters contains the following elements:

Show Numbering. In the drop-down list select area to show numbering: at the left or at the right of the element, before or after the header.
Take into Account Paddings of Dimension Elements. When the checkbox is deselected, all numbers are shown in one column without automatic paddings. If the checkbox is selected, numbering paddings correspond to the paddings shown when arranging data area elements.
Combine Numbering for All Dimensions. If the checkbox is deselected, elements in different dimensions have independent numbering. If the checkbox is selected, numbering of dimension elements depends on numbering of the enveloping dimension. This parameter is relevant if the data area contains two or more dimensions.

NOTE. If the By Hierarchy Levels and Breaking Hierarchy sorting methods are defined for data area, hierarchy will show as broken. The hierarchical numbering is replaced with continuous numbering mode.

The number of dimensions in rows and columns should also be taken into account when numbering is set up. If columns or rows contain two dimensions, and continuous numbering is set for the second dimension, each repeating element has a unique sequence number:
