The Segments page is used to create a list of segments and to set data access permissions:
In the Cube Display Version drop-down list select the display version, which data will be used in the segment. Click the Add button to create a new segment.
To set a segment selection, select segment's checkbox in the left column and click the Edit button. The Cube Segment dialog box opens:
In the dialog box select checkboxes of the dimensions, by which selection should be changed. In the drop-down list of the Selections column select dimension elements. Selection should be set for at least one dimension. The dimensions, for which the checkbox is deselected and selection is not set, will use full selection on granting permissions.
Click the Apply button to save changes and close the dialog box. After setting up the selection set up access permissions.
Segment access permissions can be determined after selection setup. To do this, select the checkbox of the segment in the left column and click the Access Permissions button. The Access Permissions dialog box opens:
In the dialog box add the required security subject (user or group) and determine its permissions: read and/or write data. The subjects added in the repository security manager are available for selection.
Click the Apply button to save changes and close the dialog box.
NOTE. Access permissions for users/groups of users are set in the Security Manager tool. Segments are used to limit existing user/group of users permissions for a cube.
A segment can be renamed. To do this, double-click the text area in the Segment column and enter a new name. To apply changes, click outside the name editor.
The checkbox in the Enable column is used to change segment activity. Active segment settings are applied to manage access to data of the subjects, for which they are set up. To disable the segment for some time, deselect its checkbox in the Enable column.
To delete the selected segments, click the Delete button. The segments will be deleted after confirmation.
