Setting Up Legend

To set up a legend, use the tab in the Format group of tabs on the side panel. Tab name depends on the legend to be set up. The following legend types are available:

Make sure that the side panel and map legend are displayed.
Select a map in the workspace.
Select the Format radio button on the side panel and go to the tab corresponding to the legend to be set up.

Select legend layout relative to map in the Layout group:

. Top left corner.
. Top border center.
. Top right corner.
. Right border center.
. Bottom right corner.
. Bottom border center.
. Bottom left corner.
. Left border center.
. The legend is not displayed.

By default, the legend is displayed at the bottom border center of the map.

Set up parameters of the font used in the legend:

Font. Select one of the fonts available in the operating system.
Font size. Set the required font size. Size is set in points and it can be selected in the drop-down list or entered manually. Range of available values: [1; 72].
Font style. Click the buttons that determine font style:

B. Bold.
K. Italic.
U. Underline.

When the button is pressed, the corresponding font style is used. Several font styles can be used simultaneously, for example, pressed buttons B and K result in bold italic font style.

Font color. Select font color in the drop-down color palette.

To fill legend background, select the Fill checkbox and set fill color and transparency in the appropriate boxes.

To show a legend border, select the Border checkbox. Specify border line color and width in the appropriate boxes.

To locate legend with map intersection, select the Locate with Intersection checkbox. After selecting this checkbox specify the number of columns in the legend.

NOTE. It is not available to determine the number of columns in the height legend and size legend.

If the checkbox is deselected, a map is not intersected with the legend, the number of columns in the legend is determined automatically.

To display a legend caption, select the Caption checkbox and set font parameters.

Legend caption font parameters match the font parameters used in the legend.

NOTE. For column and pie chart legends chart names are used as titles.
