Data Visualization as Tables

Regular reports contain several types of tables and workspaces to work with data:

To determine type of data area, select cell of the area and open the side panel. The upper part of the side panel displays name of the selected object type:

Table visualizer is a new version of the outdated data area which remains for compatibility with previous versions of Prognoz Platform. The table visualizer has a more friendly interface and advanced analytical functionalities. The main differences between tables when working are the following:

Creating Tables

To create a table visualizer, the slices are used that are created on the Sources tab of the Document group of tabs on the side panel. Default slice name: ITEM1.Slice name can be changed by user.
To create a data area, the slices are used that are created on the Data Sources and Data Slices panel. Default slice name: Slice1.Slice name can be changed by user.

Working with Dimensions

Working with table visualizer dimensions is executed on the Selection side panel tab.
Working with the data area dimensions is executed on the Data Sources and Data Slices panel or on the Selection side panel tab.

Working with Settings

Working with table visualizer settings is executed on the Table side panel tab.
Working with data area settings is executed in the Data Area Properties dialog box. To open this dialog box, use the Data Area Parameters item in the data area's context menu.
