Foresight Analytics Platform supports the use of clipboard.
To copy selected objects to clipboard:
Click the Copy button in the Clipboard group on the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Copy item in the object's context menu.
Press CTRL + C or CTRL + INSERT.
NOTE. It is available to copy objects using CTRL + C or CTRL + INSERT only in the desktop application.
If an object is a link to data tables (views, MDM dictionaries, modeling containers, factors catalog), the user can copy only object metadata or both metadata and data:
To copy metadata, select the Copy > Without Data context menu item.
To copy both metadata and data, select the Copy > With Data context menu item.
NOTE. On copying a shortcut to any MDM dictionary an empty object is created.
To cut selected objects to clipboard:
Click the Cut button in the Clipboard group on the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Cut item in the object's context menu.
Press CTRL + X or SHIFT + DELETE.
NOTE. It is available to move objects using CTRL + X or SHIFT + DELETE only in the desktop application.
After executing one of the operations the object is cut to clipboard.
To paste objects from clipboard:
Click the Paste button in the Clipboard group on the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Paste context menu item.
Press CTRL + V or SHIFT + INSERT.
NOTE. It is available to paste objects using CTRL + V or SHIFT + INSERT only in the desktop application.
After executing one of the operations a dialog box opens. If required, set a new name and a new unique identifier of object in the dialog box. The identifier should consist of only Latin letters, numbers and underline character.
Create a shortcut to repository object
To create an object shortcut:
Copy a required object to clipboard.
Select the Insert Shortcut context menu item.
If required, set a new name and a new unique identifier of object. The identifier should consist of only Latin letters, numbers and underline character.
NOTE. An object shortcut can be created only in the desktop application.
An object, for which data is taken from the copied object, is created in the object navigator.
NOTE. Some options may be unavailable because the access permissions are missing.
