Installing Foresight Analytics Platform

The section contains instructions about software installation depending on the selected configuration of application system based on Foresight Analytics Platform.

• Desktop application. Description of Foresight Analytics Platform installation on client computers.

• BI server. Description of installing dedicated BI server of Foresight Analytics Platform on servers with various operating systems, and additional settings to create fault-tolerant systems (state server, cluster of BI servers, connection pool).

• Web application back end. Description of the installation process of basic files required to provide web applications functionality on various web servers and in various operating systems. Web application back end is installed after BI server is installed.

• Mobile application server. Description of creation and setup of mobile application server and mobile application container publishing. It is used if it is supposed that the application under development will be accessed from mobile devices.

• Security server. Description of the security server installation process which will execute administration functions and process requests between databases and Foresight Analytics Platform; connection setup to work through security server.

• Microsoft Office add-ins. Description of installation of add-ins, which enable the user to get data from platform repositories and use this data in the Microsoft Office applications.

• Using Command Line. Additional instructions to start Foresight Analytics Platform desktop application from the command line with various parameters. This instructions can be used to create and test commands which can be further saved as shortcuts and can be used to automatically launch applications under development and modify the start process.
