Working with Chart

To select the data table area, by which the chart is plotted:

1. Click the Select Data button in the Data group on the Chart ribbon tab.

2. Select one of the following options in the drop-down menu of the button:

• Entire Table. A chart is plotted by all data of the table.

• Selected Area. A chart is plotted on the selected data.

The operation is available if the calculated series is selected in the data table.

To select displayed series:

1. Click the Show Series button in the Data group on the Chart ribbon tab.

2. Select the required series in the drop-down menu of the button. Depending on the calculation method, the following series are available:

• Source Series. Source data of the output variable.

• Modeling Series. Modeled values.

• Residuals. The difference between source and modeled data.

• Forecast. Forecast values calculated with the equation.

• Upper Confidence Limit. The upper confidence limit values for the forecast values.

• Lower Confidence Limit. Values of upper dynamic confidence limit for forecast values.

• Upper Dynamic Confidence Limit. Values of the upper dynamic confidence limit for forecasting values.

• Lower Dynamic Confidence Limit. Values of the lower dynamic confidence limit for forecasting values.

To show of hide a series, click the series name in the legend.

To rotate a data source, click the Rotate Rows or Columns button in the Data group on the Chart ribbon tab.

When a data source is rotated, fixed dimensions remain at their places, rows and columns dimensions change places.

NOTE. The source table is not rotated after the chart data source rotation. To rotate the table, click the Rotate Table button in the View group of the Table ribbon tab. The chart is rebuilt.

To change chart type:

1. Click the Type button in the View group on the Chart ribbon tab.

2. Use the drop-down menu of the button to select chart type.

To set up legend position:

1. Click the Legend button in the View group on the Chart ribbon tab.

2. Select legend position option in the drop-down menu of the button:

• . The legend is not displayed.

• . The upper left corner.

• . The upper border center.

• . The upper right corner.

• . The right border center.

• . The lower right corner.

• . The lower border center.

• . The lower left corner.

• . The left border center.

TIP. To quickly set up chart legend position, use the Legend side panel tab.

Data labels contain information about series or particular data points and simplify understanding of a chart.

To set up data label position:

1. Click the Data Labels button in the View group of the Chart ribbon tab.

2. Select the label position option relative to the data series point:

• None.

• Center.

• Left.

• Right.

• Top.

• Bottom.

If the Additional Parameters option is selected, the Chart Parameters dialog box opens. Use the Data Labels tab to set additional parameters.

To set up chart component format, double-click the component. An appropriate dialog box opens to set up the component format.

Data normalization is used to evaluate series norm.

To normalize data, click the Normalization button in the Data group on the Chart ribbon tab. The chart is rebuilt.

To show source data, release the Normalization button.
