On adding a security subject to the update, group or user credentials are transferred. Determined security subjects properties are not taken into account.
To add a security subject to update:
Select the Add Security Subject context menu item of the Update panel. It is available in the desktop application.
Click the button and select the Security Subject drop-down menu item.
The standard dialog box for security object selection Select Users and Groups opens.
NOTE. On separating administrator roles and depending on the selected method of access control differences in access permissions to updated elements and object update options are possible.
To correctly transfer single users to database server, select the Connect User from Server if He Exists on DBMS Level checkbox. In this case, on installing update the a new user is not created if he already exists on the server. If the checkbox is not installed, a new user is created on the server. If this user already exists, the corresponding error message is displayed.
When attribute-based access control method is used, user attributes are updated by identifier as follows:
If attributes have equal identifiers, they are updated.
If the attribute is absent, it is added.
To transfer group credentials with its members between repositories:
Add a group of users to update.
Add single users who are members of the group, which should be transferred between repositories.
Set the Transfer Group Membership parameter to Yes for single users or for group. All or single users can be transferred with saving group membership:
To transfer all users with saving group membership, set the value for the group or for all the users included in the group.
To transfer single users with saving group membership, set the value only for those users.
After the update is installed, the users and the group are transferred with saving group membership.
