Constraints at Working with BI Server on Linux

There are the following constraints at working with BI server installed on Linux OS:

  1. It is not available to use macros and event handlers implemented in the Fore.NET language. Use the Fore language for development.

  2. Domain and integrated domain authentication, as well as connection of domain users from Active Directory are available only if the repository is based on Oracle DBMS 11.x and later or PostgreSQL. This also requires advanced settings.

  3. Connection to the repositories based on any supported DBMS, except for Teradata, is available. The WEB Service driver also enables the user to connect to DBMS via security server. If security server is installed at the server on Windows OS, connection is available to any supported DBMS including Teradata. A repository connection based on Microsoft SQL Server DBMS is available with the use of ODBC driver after additional setup. The Microsoft ODBC Driver 11 for SQL Server for working with character data supports UTF-8 for SQL_CHAR and UTF-16 for SQL_WCHAR.

  4. Text sheets in regular reports cannot be viewed, created and edited.

  5. Working with ADOMD catalog is not supported.

  6. Modeling and statistics methods using the X11, X12-ARIMA, TRAMO/SEATS analysis are not supported, as well as R package methods if integration with R is executed.

  7. Data from Microsoft Access (*.mdb) database cannot be imported.

  1. On working with ETL task, and also on working via Fore with providers and consumers of the Dt assembly, there are the following constraints:

  1. Working with emails is available using resources of the Net assembly only if cross=platform classes are used, which name contains the Curl* prefix.

  2. On working with files and folders using the resources of the IO assembly take into account differences between the file systems used in Windows and Linux. Some properties and methods may not work or work incorrectly.

  3. Work with visual forms is not supported, as well as with resources that are designed to work with visual components of development environment (the Forms, ExtCtrls assemblies resources and others).

  4. The visual dialog boxes implemented in Ui Assembly resources is not supported.
