To delete a sheet:
Select the Delete > Delete Sheet item in the Cell group of the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Remove Sheet item of the selected sheet context menu tab.
A confirmation dialog box opens after one of these operations is executed.
When a sheet is deleted, the formulas referring to this sheet are automatically adjusted. For example, the formula "=B0+1+"Sheet2"!A0 after the Sheet2 is deleted looks as follows: "=B0+1+#LINK!A0".
