When a layout is custom, the user can define formatting for element name and data. If no formatting is defined for element, the formatting defined for level, dimension, sidehead or heading is applied.
Consider a data area with the custom layout enabled, that has additional names defined for dimension elements, and with identical formatting set for elements' names and data:
If the Place Level Elements in Separate Columns checkbox is selected for rows or columns on the Layout > Rows/Columns tab, the formatting is applied as follows:
If the Place Level Elements in Separate Columns and the Use Stairs Hierarchy checkboxes are selected for rows or columns on the Layout > Rows/Columns tab, the formatting is applied as follows:
On selecting the Place Level Elements in Separate Columns and the Arrange Child Elements before Parent Elements checkboxes for rows or columns on the Layout > Rows/Columns tab, formatting for additional names is applied as follows:
If no custom layout is used in the data area and the Place Level Elements in Separate Columns checkbox is selected for rows or columns on the Layout > Rows/Columns tab, formatting of the including element is applied to the neighbor merged cell.
