Various tools included in Foresight Analytics Platform use combo-boxes to select any elements or objects.
List elements are shown as a hierarchy. To select an element, open the list of elements and click it.
Combo-boxes implement various search types.
The following search types are available when the drop-down list is expanded:
On entering first several characters of the element name the cursor moves to the first found element. This search type is executed in cycles, and only by the elements in the expanded part of element tree hierarchy.
In the search string that opens on pressing F3 or CTRL+F. The search starts after the user enters required character string and presses the ENTER key or clicks the button. The search is executed in cycles by all the element hierarchy.
If the search is successful, the focus moves to the found element.
Elements can also be searched with the component drop-down list collapsed. When the component is in focus, click the button or just start entering the search text. The list filtered by elements and containing this combination in its name is formed on entering the symbol combination.
One or several words can also be searched based on segments in any mode. To do this, separate the search combinations with whitespace character. The word order in the names of search elements is ignored.
