The time series analysis tool can work in the following modes:
Edit mode. Default. It is used for data analysis. Available functionality:
Editing time series attribute values and data.
Creating time and calculated series.
Implementation of different statistical methods, and so on.
View mode. It is used if the user does not have permissions for changing a workbook. All capabilities of the edit mode are available except for saving a workbook, but saving a copy of the workbook is available.
Working with data from the time series database is available in the following tools:
In the desktop application. Select the Open With > Analytical Queries (OLAP) context menu item for the time series database or select the In Analytical Queries (OLAP) item in the drop-down menu of the Open button located on the Home ribbon tab in the object navigator.
In the web application. Select the Open in Express Analysis item in the context menu of the time series database or in the drop-down menu of the Open button on the Home ribbon tab in the object navigator.
Modeling and Forecasting. The option is available only in the desktop application. Select the Open With > Modeling Container context menu item for the time series database or select the In Modeling Container item in the drop-down menu of the Open button on the Home ribbon tab in the object navigator.
To start the time series analysis tool, open the object navigator:
Select the Time Series Database repository object and:
Double click the Time Series Database object.
Select the Open item in the context menu of the time series database.
Click the Open button located on the Home ribbon tab.
Select the Open with > Time Series Analysis item in the context menu of the time series database.
A workbook with the selected time series database as the data source opens. The time series analysis tool will work in the edit mode.
Select the Workbook repository object and:
Select the Open item in the workbook's context menu.
Click the Open button located on the Home ribbon tab.
The selected workbook opens. If the user has permissions for changing the workbook, the time series analysis tool will work in the edit mode; if the user does not have permissions for changing the workbook, it works in the view mode.
Start web application, authorize and:
On the welcome screen select the Time Series Analysis tool.
Select the Object Navigator > Time Series Analysis main menu item.
Start the object navigator, select the Time Series Database repository object and:
Select the Open Time Series Analysis item of the context menu for the time series database.
Click the Open button located on the Home ribbon tab.
A workbook with the selected time series database as the data source opens.
The time series analysis tool will work in the edit mode.
Start the object navigator, select the Workbook repository object and select the Open context menu item.
The selected workbook opens. If the user has permissions for changing the workbook, the time series analysis tool will work in the edit mode; if the user does not have permissions for changing the workbook, it works in the view mode.
