Keys are identifiers of MDM dictionary records. Keys can be unique and non-unique.
Unique key is a basic identifier for MDM dictionary records.
A key may contain:
A single dictionary attribute, which values are unique for each of the elements.
Several attributes, which values are non-unique.
NOTE. A key may contain several attributes if dictionary does not have single unique attribute.
To create and set up unique keys, use the Unique Keys tab.
A non-unique key is an additional identifier for MDM dictionary records. It is used to:
Set up attribute as an alternative hierarchy.
Set index to link with alternative hierarchies.
A key may contain:
A single dictionary attribute, which values can be repeated for each element.
Several attributes, which values are non-unique.
To create and set up non-unique keys, use the Non-Unique Keys tab.
Create a non-unique index in a child table based on non-unique key.
