Dictionary Viewing

To open the dictionary, select it in the object navigator window and:

Double-click the dictionary name.
Select the Open item in the dictionary's context menu.
Select the Open item in the Open group on the Home ribbon tab.

Basic Operations with Elements

To copy the selected dictionary element selection to clipboard, select the Copy item in the element's context menu. Element selection is copied without selecting of child elements.

To paste the copied element selection from clipboard, select the Paste item in the element's context menu. The selection from clipboard replaces the current selection of dictionary element.

To search for a dictionary element, select the Edit > Search Element context menu item. For detailed description of this operation see the Searching for Dictionary Element section.

To select columns, which must be displayed in the working area:

Click the button and select the Select Columns option.
Select the View > Select Columns item in the dictionary main menu.

The dialog box with the same name opens:

The columns for displaying are chosen by selecting or deselecting appropriate checkboxes or using the buttons Select All or Deselect All.

To set the order of columns in the table, use the buttons , , .

To refresh the list of dictionary elements:

Select the View > Refresh main menu item.
Press F5.

If the dictionary is parametric, the Determine Parameter Values dialog box opens. The previously entered values are displayed in the input fields.

Operations with Elements Selection

To select all dictionary elements, select the Select All context menu item.

To deselect all dictionary elements, select the Deselect All context menu item.

To select level of dictionary, select the Select Level context menu item.

To deselect level of dictionary, select the Deselect Level context menu item.

To select dictionary descendants, select the Select Descendents context menu item.

To deselect dictionary descendants, select the Deselect Descendants context menu item.

Operations with Elements List

To select one element, click its name.

To select a range of elements, hold down the SHIFT key and click the first and the last element in the range. Elements will be selected with all descendants.

For spot selection, hold down the CTRL key and click all elements to be selected one after another.

To expand or collapse the hierarchy, select one of the elements located in the list and select the Expand/Collapse item in the context menu of the dictionary element.

If the selected element has collapsed or expanded subelements, they are also expanded or collapsed. If object hierarchy is collapsed, the icon is displayed next to the object, if the object hierarchy is expanded, the icon is displayed.
