Data Import

To import data from external providers to the time series database a special child object named the Import Object is used. Working with an import object is available only in the desktop application.

Import object features:

• Import from:

• • Time series database

  • OLE DB

  • Microsoft Excel (*.xls; *.xlsx).

  • Microsoft Access (*.mdb; *.accdb).

  • Microsoft XML (*.xml).

  • Text files (*.txt; *.csv).

  • Clipboard.

• Scale data.

• Adjustment to data without prior preparation of source files.

• Import composite values and possible splitting of composite values, and so on.

To start data import, open the existing or create a new import object.

Import consists of the following steps:

• Set Up Data Source.

• Bind Data.

• Compare Non-Binding Attributes.

• Import.

• View Results.
