Setting Up Aggregation by Dimension for Operand

Aggregation enables the use of several values of operand dimension aggregated by the selected method in the expression. Aggregation can be set up by any operand dimension, except the calendar one.

NOTE. The option is available only in the desktop application.

To set up aggregation by dimension:

  1. Click the button to the left of the dimension name. The dimension menu will be displayed.

  2. Select one of the available aggregation methods in the Aggregation group.

  3. To calculate aggregation taking into account hierarchy of dimension values, select the By Hierarchy radio button. The checkbox is deselected by default, and aggregation is calculated without taking into account the hierarchy.

  4. To calculate aggregation only by the dimension values corresponding to the specific conditions, select the Advanced Filtering item. The Advanced Filter dialog box where the required conditions can be set opens. The process of work with the dialog box is given below.

  5. After the dimension menu is closed, select aggregated values in the list of dimension values on the data panel. Multiple selection is available. If no value is selected, the aggregation is calculated by all values.

As a result the operand dimension values aggregation will be set up. To reset aggregation, select No in the Aggregation group of the dimension menu.

Setting Up Filtering of Aggregated Values

Filtering of aggregated values is performed by applying the conditions to dimension attributes values. Setting is performed in the Advanced Filter dialog box:

To add a condition:

  1. Click the Add button. A new row to set up condition will be added to the table.

  2. Select the attribute to which the condition should be applied in the Attribute column. All dimension attributes are available for selection.

  3. Select the checkbox in the No column, if it is not required to set up the invers condition. For example, the attribute value is not equal to five.

  4. Select one of the condition types in the Condition column:

  5. Select the type of compared value in the Type column:

  6. Determine the compared value in the Value column or select the parameter which sets this value.
    If the "in" condition is selected, to enter the second and the following values, click the button located at the end of the row. A new row to enter value will be added:

    To remove the value, click the button.
    After the values are entered, they all will be displayed at the same row separated by comma:

As a result, aggregated values filtering condition will be added. To remove the selected condition, click the Remove button.
