Disconnecting Repository from VCS

To disconnect a repository from VCS:

  1. Open the Application Development tab in the Parameters dialog box.

  2. Save the object obtained from server in the repository. To do this, click the Synchronize Repository button.

  3. Click the Disconnect button on the Application Development tab. The Disconnect from VCS dialog box opens, in which select the option for disconnecting repository from VCS:

NOTE. Team Foundation Server records history of the files added to this server. When objects are disconnected from the repository, information on the corresponding files remains on the VCS server. It is impossible to reconnect disconnected objects to the Version Control System as the server already stores information on corresponding files. You can add an object to the Version Control System after you change the settings of repository connection to VCS server (Changing Connection Settings). Do not disconnect objects in the working version of the repository. You may need to disconnect object when you change settings of a cloned repository version before changing settings of connection to Version Control System.

IMPORTANT. Total repository disconnection from Version Control System will result in deleting all settings for users working in this repository.

  1. Click the Disconnect from VCS button.

The repository is disconnected from VCS.
