Setting Up Effective Permissions

To set up effective permissions, use the Effective Permissions tab in the Access Control Settings dialog box in the desktop application and on the Properties side panel in the web application:

NOTE. Viewing effective permissions is available only for one selected object.

Setting up effective permissions enables the user to view current permissions of a user or a group of users for execution of specific operations with the selected object.

In the Group or User box specify a group or specific user, whose permissions must be viewed. User or user group names can be entered manually or using the Select Users and Groups dialog box that opens on clicking the Find button.

The Assigned Permissions area displays a list of operations that are performable on the object with selected checkboxes, if the option is enabled for a user or a group of users that have access permissions:

Allowed/Summary. Permissions based on all the other access permissions are taken into account.
Discretionary permissions.
Mandatory permissions.
Class permissions. Total discretionary access permissions are taken into account for objects of different classes.
