Access Permissions Control

The following methods of access control for MDM dictionary elements are available:

NOTE. Access permissions can be set if access control is used and the user has privilege to change permissions.
If the roles of the information security administrator and the application administrator are separated, by default, only the information security administrator may change access permissions using the security manager.

Setting Control of Access to MDM Dictionary Elements

Make sure that the discretionary access control for MDM dictionary elements is enabled.
Select the Access Permissions item in the element's context menu.
In the Access Permissions dialog box go to the Discretionary Access Control tab.

The tab contains a list of all access subjects determined for a dictionary. The tab view is given above.

To change subject permissions, use checkboxes in the following columns: Read, Write, Delete and Modify Permissions.

If the checkbox is selected, the subject is given the appropriate permission.
If the checkbox is deselected, the subject is denied to execute the appropriate action.

If none of these operations is determined for the subject, it is not displayed.

Make sure that the mandatory access control for table MDM dictionary elements is enabled.
Select the Access Permissions item in the element's context menu.
In the Access Permissions dialog box go to the Mandatory Access Control tab.

The tab contains a list of all security categories determined in the security manager. For example:

For each security category set the required access level. By default, each category has the Access Denied level.

Use checkboxes available on any tab of the Access Permissions dialog box:

Apply by Items Hierarchy. Selecting the checkbox enables the user to apply access permissions to all child elements of the configured element.
Apply to Level. Selecting this checkbox enables the user to apply access permissions to all elements of the level, at which the configured element is stored.
