Formula Editor

The formula editor is used to create various formulas, expressions, and conditions required to create various objects and object parameters.

IMPORTANT. Formula editor is outdated, instead of it the expression editor is used by default. If the user wants to use formula editor, he should set the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Foresight\Prognoz Platform\9.0\UiTs\OldFormulaEditor registry key to 1. By default the key is set to 0.

The expression, formula, or condition is displayed in this area. It is available to create an expression by typing required symbols and characters or by using the data area and appropriate buttons in the formula editor dialog box.

To create expressions, use:

Global variables. To do this in the formula field the global variable identifier should be specified.
Application functions. To use application functions from the module the path to the function should be specified in the following format: <module identifier>.<function name>.[(parameters values)].
Statistics methods of application and system classes (See also: Classes, System Assembly Classes, IStatistics and MathFin). To use methods it is necessary to specify the full path to the method in the following format: <module name>.<class name>.<method name>.
Fore.NET functions. To do this in expressions should be specified the <Fore.NET assembly identifier>.[<Namespace>].<Class name>.<Function name>. If the namespace is not defined, namespace of default .NET assembly is used.
Conditional operator. To use the conditional operator the string of the following structure should be specified: <condition> ? <value if the condition is True> : <value if condition is False>.

Buttons are used to insert mathematical functions and operations in a formula. To display the required operation sign or function in the formula pane, click the appropriate button.

	"Greater than" sign.

	Integer quotient.
	Remainder of the division.

	Or.
	Negation.

NOTE. On executing MOD and DIV operators for real data operands the result will be of the real data type.

The contents of the data area depends on from where the formula editor was opened. The data area may contain fields, attributes, and the parameters of the object (for a cube, table, or dictionary, and so on) or the additional functions that may be used to create expression. Double-click the defined identifier to insert it into the formula area.
